They Disobeyed To Break The Stereotypes #writebravely


Boys should be strong, they don’t cry.

Men need to hide their sentiments,

A man should not reveal his emotional front.

They said!

He disobeyed.


He cried in his mother’s lap when he fell and scratched his knee in school.

He cried in front of his best friend when his girlfriend left him.

He cried when he became a dad.

And, he cried when his daughter got married.

He disobeyed.


A man should dominate his wife,

He is the head of the family and should take charge.

A man is responsible for everything outside and not at home.

But, he chose equality over dominance.

He took care of the house when she was sick, instead of letting it be.

He disobeyed.


Girls should be confined to their houses,

A girl must learn the household stuff,

She is the caretaker of the family.

She has no identity.

They said!

She disobeyed.


She moved out of her house,

took up a job to support her family.

She helped her father.

She disobeyed.


A woman should respect her husband.

She should be with him and love him, no matter what.

But, she left him forever.

When he first hit her.

If he can hit her, she cannot respect him.

She disobeyed.


He wanted her to stay at home and take care of kids.

She wanted to make her career.

She knew she was responsible for her kids, but she was responsible for herself too.

She could not lose her identity.

She started working from home.

She disobeyed.


They disobeyed.

I disobeyed.
