Happiness Is Everywhere. Just Look Around

Happiness

HAPPINESS!

We all work day and night just for this one thing. Happiness. Some find happiness in power, some in wealth, and some in everyday things, like me. Happiness can be found anywhere. Actually No. We need not find happiness, we just have to think about happy things.

Happiness is a state of mind, they say and with time I have realized that yes, this is true. And that’s what I try to do. Think positive, think about the good things in my life.

For me Happiness is:

Books

If I was granted one wish and I wish for books and lots of books, it wouldn’t come as a surprise. Because I am truly and madly in love with books. The smell of the leaves in an old book, the feel of pages on my fingers, the hard spine on my palm, everything is just mesmerizing. I have loads of unread books at home and still new ones because I just can’t resist buying them. I might not buy clothes but I can’t do away without books.

Laughter of my daughter

No matter how tired or irritated I am, this sound makes me cheerful in an instant and I’m sure all would agree with me on this. That’s the power of innocence and childhood. Children are a bundle of happiness. Playing with my toddler and hearing her laugh and seeing her enjoy makes me fall in love with motherhood again and again (though sometimes the mom in me wants to run away). It’s a blessing different from all.

A new life in me

Happiness is the experience of a new life growing inside me, once again. The flutters growing into strong, sometimes painful movements, and the thought of holding a part of you in your arms again is happiness overflowing. No matter how tiring and exhausting my second pregnancy is, it’s a feeling completely different and totally dipped in love.

Petrichor

The smell of wet mud after extends my happiness by leaps and bounds. It makes me feel a part of nature, that I am close to it, despite surrounded by buildings around. The cool effect the smell has on me along with the pleasant atmosphere, makes me feel alive.

Some time for myself

How can I forget this, it’s one of the most important things for a mother, you get the drift right? Happiness is when you get some time every day, yes you read it right, every day gives me a sense of achievement. I’m immensely happy and fully charged up even if I get 5-15 mins in a day to do anything I want and this, at times, includes doing nothing, sitting idle, staring blankly, and just anything.

A look at my world sleeping after day’s workout

A look at my daughter and hubby at night (snoring) makes me feel blessed and happy. I feel contented with everything God has blessed me with. That’s what we all want, isn’t it? A loving husband and charming (okay, not thaat charming) kids.

And, of course, money to shop.

Oh, and lots of cheese (for me).

And… travel.

And when your hubby listens to you and does household chores…

Okay… Now I’m daydreaming.

This post is written as a part of the “Happiness blog train” presented by Blogsikka and Momsmethods and sponsored by Nayasa. Nayasa has come up with a new range of bottles. This range of bottles are insulated, they maintain the liquid’s temperature inside the bottle either hot or cold. The new designs are practical and aesthetic. From holding in palms to the cap, everything is designed carefully.

Thank you so very much, Judy, from http://www.theotherbraininc.com  for introducing me.

  5. True, happiness is all around, you just require to be indulgent and follow your heart. For a woman, her nest and the residents are the pillars of her strength.
    Loved your post.

  6. Can’t agree more with your thoughts on happiness. It’s everywhere! The minute I wake up and see my son & hubby sleeping beside me gives me a gush of happiness. As soon as I switch on my phone in the morning and see my mom’s ‘good morning’ message, again I feel happy. Happiness is around us, we just have to embrace it. I find happiness in such little things and it fills up my day.

  7. Indeed happiness is a state of mind, and it is all around us and it is there in every little things. Yes, just being with oneself, we are now a days so disconnected and one who love books, nothing can beat the joy of holding a new book and exploring the pages and the smell of the fresh print…in fact happiness is so much within and once we connect with our inner self, we feel the happiness in every little thing we do..
