“Kay. Sera Sera. What will be. Will be.”
She loved this tune and hummed throughout her pregnancy. She even bought a toy for the crib which played the same tune.
That day too, Neela was humming this tune while holding her stillborn child. She has been an optimist her entire life and so when God asked her to step back from motherhood just when she was about to enter it, she accepted it as His will.
Something brought Neela back from her reverie. She rushed to the room where the crib was still there. It couldn’t be.
She is alone at home and she didn’t play the music. But, it felt so real. Maybe she was dreaming.
Just when she was about to leave. She heard the music, again. Loud and Clear.
She turned swiftly and this time, saw the toy moving too.

Do you believe in spirits?
Share your thoughts in the comments. Or probably a brush-up with such a phenomenon?
You had got me hooked to it till the very last…
If I have to be truthful the ending could have been little more scary ☺️
“as she was about leave feeling pain to face reality, the tune started this time louder and turned around to look at the cradle” small hand came out of the cradle touching the soft toy that hung on the cradle”??

Yups, Anagha. Can be both. Waise bhi no matter how optimist Neela is, it’s difficult for a mother to accept that her child is no.more with her.
