He Waited For Her

Every day he saw her in the morning, brimming with energy, ready to begin the day breathing fresh air and then her walk.

Every day he waited for her to notice him. Every day he thought that this might be his day.

And, every day she passed him as if he didn’t exist.

But, today he was prepared. To make the first move. He has been waiting for over a week now, and today he was determined to make her notice him.

Every morning the park is bustling with people of all age, some doing yoga, some morning walk, a few meditating, and a few in the laughing club. He, however, just sat there every day observing everyone entering the premises.

He loved observing people and couldn’t help but get puzzled at their behavior often.

It was one such fine day that he saw her. She looked sweet, harmless, and most of all friendly. Surely, there is no harm in approaching a girl who oozes life, he thought. His intuition told him that they can be amazing friends.

She was late today. Not able to stand the suspense behind her being late, he got up and was about to move towards the entry gate, when he knew she’d come. He could smell her.

He quickly retreated to his usual place and waited for her. Like every day, she came and sat on the bench beside him.

Without delaying, he stood up, went to her, and waited with bated breath.

This time, not only did she notice him but also gave him a warm smile. He couldn’t believe it was finally happening.

She stretched her hand, took the stick from his mouth, and threw it far.

“Go, Fetch!”, she said.

“Woof! Woof!”, He ran with all his might to be back for a second round.

It was the beginning of a beautiful and an honest relationship.
